Reward Issuance Overview
The Reward Issuance feature introduces automated reward distribution based on predefined member events, such as Birthdays and Loyalty Anniversaries. This enhancement helps create timely, personalized member experiences by delivering rewards without manual intervention.
NOTE:
This feature is flag-based - meaning it is not available by default and must be enabled upon request. Once enabled, it supports both standard rewards and external rewards, depending on the configuration.
To set reward issuance criteria go to
Navigation: Product > Rewards > Reward Issuance

To configure a new reward issuance, click on Set Reward Issuance located at the top-right corner of the screen.

Reward Issuance Configuration
To begin setting up auto issuance:

- Select the Reward from the Issue Reward drop-down list
- The user can choose from a list of eligible rewards. These rewards must be preconfigured to appear in the drop-down menu.
- Only rewards in a Scheduled or Live state are displayed.
- Archived or Draft rewards are excluded from the list.
- Both standard and external rewards are supported.
2. Define the Triggering Member Event
Choose between:
- Birthday
- Loyalty Anniversary
Once the reward and event are selected, you configure the exact conditions under which the reward should be issued.
Member Event: Birthday
Attribute Used
- The system uses the standard attribute: birthDate, available in Create User (POST) and Update User (PATCH) APIs.
- This attribute is automatically referenced by the system to identify the member’s birthday.
- No additional action or configuration (like action ID 103 used for birthday point issuance) is needed.
Issue On Options

- Event Day
- The reward is issued on the member's actual birthday.
- For example, a member born on 11 August will receive the reward on 11 August, at 12:01 AM.
2. Specific Day of Event Month
- The reward is issued on a specific date within the birth month, regardless of the actual birthday.
- For example, if the system is set to issue on the 1st of the event month, and the member's birthday is on 11 August, they will receive the reward on 1 August.
3. Before Specific Days from Event Day
- The reward is issued a specified number of days before the birthday.
- For example, if set to 30 days before, and the birthday is 11 August, the reward will be issued on 12 July.

Member Event: Loyalty Anniversary
Attribute Used
- The system refers to the members optInDate (standard parameter) to calculate the anniversary.
- The first anniversary is defined as one year from the opt-in date.
For example, if opt-in is 17 June 2023, the first loyalty anniversary is 17 June 2024.
Issue On Options

- Event Day
- The reward is issued on the exact anniversary date.
- For example, opt-in on 17 June 2023 → reward issued on 17 June 2024.
2. Specific Day of Event Month
- The reward is issued on a specific date within the anniversary month.
- For example, for opt-in on 17 June, if set to 1st of event month → reward is issued on 1 June 2024.
3. Before Specific Days from Event Day
- The reward is issued a certain number of days before the anniversary.
- For example, for 17 June anniversary and a 30-day buffer, the reward will be issued on 18 May.

Use Cases
Member Event |
Issue On |
Benefits |
|---|---|---|
When Member Event is selected as either Birthday or Loyalty Anniversary |
If Issue On is set as Day of Event Month and the date is 1st October 2025 |
All members who joined the loyalty program after 1st October 2025 will not receive any reward, even if their birthday or loyalty anniversary occurs after this date. This is because the reward is issued before the member join the loyalty program. |
When Member Event is selected as either Birthday or Loyalty Anniversary |
If Issue On is set as Before Days from Event Day = 30 Days |
Members whose birthday or anniversary falls within 29 days of joining the loyalty program will not receive any reward. Example: • Loyalty Joining Date: 1st October 2025 • Birthday: 20th October 2025 • Issue On: 30 days before the event Here, the gap between joining and birthday is 19 days, but the reward must be issued 30 days before the event. Hence, no reward will be given to the member. |
