Understanding Point Multiplier Campaigns
A Point Multiplier Campaign allows you to temporarily increase the number of points a member earns for eligible actionsâmost commonly purchases. Instead of changing your base earn rate permanently, a multiplier (e.g., 2x, 3x) applies only during the campaign window. This gives you a flexible, time-bound way to motivate customer behavior without restructuring your core program.
â Example: If your program normally offers 1 point per $1 spent, a 2x campaign means members earn 2 points per $1 for qualifying purchases.
Â
In this document we will focus on configuring a Point Multiplier Campaign to increase purchases of specific products.
Â
đď¸ Boost Purchases of Specific Products
Apply a point multiplier to a defined set of products to increase their visibility and incentivize faster conversion. This is especially effective for promoting new launches, clearing excess inventory, or driving focus to strategic product lines.
Why it works: Adds perceived value without discounting the product and helps move inventory or spotlight key SKUs.
KPI Impacted: Product-level sales, inventory turnover, attachment rate
Example: "Earn 2x points when you buy any item from our new Spring Collection.â

How to Configure the Point Multiplier CampaignÂ
Â
1. Access the Campaigns dashboard.Â
Make sure you are on the Products tab on the Annex Cloud platform and then select GO within the Campaigns tile.

Â
2. Once on the Campaigns dashboard, select Add New Campaign to get started.

Â
3. You will be taken to the General Information tab of the Campaign configuration page. It is on this tab that you will give your campaign a name, determine the campaign's time frame, as well as other access and UI settings. For in depth information on what to configure on the General Information tab, read here.
Once the general settings are configured, select Next to head to the next tab.

Â
4. You will be taken to the Audience & Milestones tab. This is where you will configure the point multiplier aspect of your campaign.Â
Select Add Audience & Milestone to begin.

Â
5. To target specific products with this campaign, you will need to establish the target audience.
You will need to add the Segment that you would like to target with the campaign.Â
Segments must be configured prior to campaign configuration to add as the target audience.Â
Select the segment from the drop-down menu under Target Audience > Segment.

Segment: You will add an order-based segment as the target audience.
- Segment criteria:
- Order > Product > Has purchased > Product ID List (entered manually or uploaded via CSV)

âFor more information on segment configuration, read here.
Â
6. Once youâve selected the segment as the target audience, you will now define your campaign milestone.

Scroll down to the Milestone section and follow the directions below.
- Milestone Name: Give your campaign milestone a name (e.g., Double Points for Spring Products)
- Type: Set the type to Action
- Details: Select the Purchase action from the drop-down menu
Then set your Milestone Benefit Settings following the directions below.
-
Benefit for specific products:
- Set to Yes if you want campaign points awarded for the segment-specific products only.
- Set to No if you want members to earn campaign points on their entire order (that contains the segment-specific products).
-
Milestone Bonus: This is your campaign point multiplier. Set the point ratio you would like members to earn for purchases during the campaign period (e.g., Milestone Bonus = 2 means members earn 2 points for every dollar spent).
- âTo understand how other point ratios applied in the loyalty program (e.g., tier point ratios) may affect the campaign points, read here.
- Points Expiration: Set an expiration date for the points members earn for this campaign. We recommend setting an expiration date to encourage members to return to the brand, use their points, and reduce point liability.
You then have the option to place limits on how many times members can earn points for this campaign and/or set a maximum number of points members can earn for the campaign in the Milestone Limit Settings section of the page.
To establish UI settings for the milestone, you may do so under Milestone Additional Settings.Â
âFor more information on these limits and settings, read here.
Â
Once your campaign milestone has been configured and added on the Audience & Milestones tab, select Next.

Â
7. You will be taken to the Campaign Benefit tab.
Here you can configure bonus points or an additional reward to be given to members on top of the higher point ratio. This is not required and can be left blank if you'd only like to award the point ratio for the campaign.

8. Select Update Campaign to save the campaign.Â
The campaign will now appear in the Campaign dashboard and become active on the start date you established.
Â
đCongratulations on setting up your Point Multiplier Campaign!Â
