Understanding Point Multiplier Campaigns
A Point Multiplier Campaign allows you to temporarily increase the number of points a member earns for eligible actions—most commonly purchases. Instead of changing your base earn rate permanently, a multiplier (e.g., 2x, 3x) applies only during the campaign window. This gives you a flexible, time-bound way to motivate customer behavior without restructuring your core program.
✅ Example: If your program normally offers 1 point per $1 spent, a 2x campaign means members earn 2 points per $1 for qualifying purchases.
In this document, we will focus on configuring a Point Multiplier Campaign to increase purchase frequency.
🛍️ Boost Purchases During Key Retail Moments
Use a multiplier campaign to drive urgency and increase transaction volume during peak seasons, holiday weekends, or planned marketing pushes.
Why it works: Combines well with existing promotions and leverages urgency.
KPI Impacted: Purchase frequency, total revenue
Example: “Earn 3x points this Black Friday weekend only.”
How to Configure the Point Multiplier Campaign
1. Access the Campaigns dashboard.
Make sure you are on the Products tab on the Annex Cloud platform and then select GO within the Campaigns tile.

2. Once on the Campaigns dashboard, select Add New Campaign to get started.

3. You will be taken to the General Information tab of the Campaign configuration page. It is on this tab that you will give your campaign a name, determine the campaign's time frame, as well as other access and UI settings. For in depth information on what to configure on the General Information tab, read here.
Once the general settings are configured, select Next to head to the next tab.

4. You will be taken to the Audience & Milestones tab. This is where you will configure the point multiplier aspect of your campaign.
Select Add Audience & Milestone to begin.

5. You will now define your campaign milestone. Note, the way you configure this milestone is dependent on the metric you want to impact (purchase frequency, AOV).
Increase Purchase Frequency for All Members
If you want to offer the campaign to all members to increase purchase frequency, you do not need to complete the Target Audience fields. This will default to all members if left as is.

Scroll down to the Milestone section and follow the directions below.
- Milestone Name: Give your campaign milestone a name (e.g., Purchases Earn 2x Points)
- Type: Set the type to Action
- Details: Select the Purchase action from the drop-down menu
Then set your Milestone Benefit Settings following the directions below.
- Benefit for specific products: Set to No. This will allow members to earn the campaign points on their entire order, not just for the purchase of specific products.
-
Milestone Bonus: This is your campaign point multiplier. Set the point ratio you would like members to earn for purchases during the campaign period (e.g., Milestone Bonus = 2 means members earn 2 points for every dollar spent).
- ⭐To understand how other point ratios applied in the loyalty program (e.g., tier point ratios) may affect the campaign points, read here.
- Points Expiration: Set an expiration date for the points members earn for this campaign. We recommend setting an expiration date to encourage members to return to the brand, use their points, and reduce point liability.
You then have the option to place limits on how many times members can earn points for this campaign and/or set a maximum number of points members can earn for the campaign in the Milestone Limit Settings section of the page.
To establish UI settings for the milestone, you may do so under Milestone Additional Settings.
⭐For more information on these limits and settings, read here.
Once your campaign milestone has been configured and added on the Audience & Milestones tab, select Next.

6. You will be taken to the Campaign Benefit tab.
Here you can configure bonus points or an additional reward to be given to members on top of the higher point ratio. This is not required and can be left blank if you'd only like to award the point ratio for the campaign.

7. Select Update Campaign to save the campaign.
The campaign will now appear in the Campaign dashboard and become active on the start date you established.
🎉Congratulations on setting up your Point Multiplier Campaign!
