Incentive Engine - Exclude Words

Summary

The Exclude Words feature allows you to exclude words from appearing in coupons. They could be profane words, words that have negative connotations, or competitor company names or product names. You have to create a list of excluded words.

Coupon codes are generated randomly based on criteria you select when creating codes. While it would be a profound coincidence for the algorithm to create a code containing an excluded word, this feature is a valuable resource to prevent even the slightest chance.

 

Adding Excluded Words

To build a list of excluded words, click Add Words. The Add Exclude Words window appears.

To add words to the list one at a time

  1. Enter a word in the Enter Exclude Words field.
  2. Click Submit. The page returns to the Exclude Words page.
  3. Repeat these steps for each word you want to add.

To add multiple words in a single operation,

  1. Create a csv file with words you want to add. Click Download csv format to obtain a template file for creating your list.

Avoid using special characters while creating a CSV file.

 
  1. Click Browse to select your csv file from a standard Windows file selection window.
  2. Click Submit. The page returns to the Exclude Words page, displaying your selected words.
Note: A maximum of 10K exclude words can be uploaded using a CSV file at a time.
 

Deleting Existing Words

You can also delete a particular Exclude Word from the list using the delete option.

  1. Select one or more words from your list using the check boxes on the left
  2. Click Delete.

Filtering

The Filter option allows you to locate specific words using the search button.

  1. Click Filter.
  2. Enter a word in the Exclude Word field.
  3. Click Search. The Exclude Words page appears with the selected word.
    1. If your selected word does not exist in the list, a “No Records Found” message appears.

Exporting

The export functionality allows you to export the data in the form of Excel, CSV, and PDFs with a 10K record limit.

  1. Click Export.
  2. Select the format for your export file: Excel, CSV, or PDF. The export file appears in the Downloads folder on your local machine.
